The Joseph Sears School Choir performed the National Anthem at Welsh-Ryan Arena prior to Northwestern's basketball game against Penn State on Monday.

Led by Choir Director Mr. Bill Gordon, approximately 80 Sears students in grades 5-8 took the court to perform "The Star-Spangled Banner" in front of a crowd of 6,541.

"Thank you to all of the students and families that participated in the National Anthem Sing at Welsh Ryan Arena this past Monday night," Mr. Gordon said. "I was proud of how the singers were able to focus and perform in a huge basketball arena! Compared to past seasons, it was wonderful how Northwestern was able to place us right near the action....a wonderful sense of community was felt abounding!"

Under Mr. Gordon's direction, the Sears Choir performs annually at nationally-televised sporting events.
