As we transition into another summer, construction will remain ongoing at The Joseph Sears School as part of Phase III of our Master Facilities process. We are sending this communication to inform you of many important items related to the construction project. If you have any questions, please email construction@kenilworth38.org. For up-to-date information, please visit The Joseph Sears School's website.
Summer Entrance Procedures
Everyone will use the Main Entrance - Door #1 when entering and exiting the building. When visiting the school, please check in with the main office as usual. All visitors must enter using their state-issued ID. Once the state-issued ID has been processed, visitors will receive a printed copy of their ID and a green lanyard before being granted access to the building. Visitors will return their lanyard or name badge to the front office and collect their ID to check out. Visitors must exit the building through the Main Entrance - Door #1. The rest of the entrances to the building will be off-limits due to construction.
Safety Reminder for Summer Worksite
Over the summer, parts of the school will be a construction zone and a working area, and authorized personnel are the only ones permitted to enter any fenced-off area. Students, families, and community members should follow the bike trail route along the schoolhouse to accommodate the construction zone. Construction will be centered around the courtyard at the back of the building. Construction fencing will be installed on Friday, June 7. There will be an increase in construction traffic in the back of the schoolhouse.
The Kenilworth Park District will still utilize the cafenasium, blacktop, and Townley Field for their summer programming. We ask those participating in the programs to remain mindful of the nearby construction zone.
