Biography

In 2020, Ms. Kate Donegan succeeded Dr. Crystal LeRoy and became the tenth full-time superintendent in the school district's history.

As Superintendent, Ms. Donegan guides the Administrative Leadership Team in implementing the district's mission statement as established by the Kenilworth Board of Education. Ms. Donegan’s leadership responsibilities as Superintendent ensure that all major decisions are not only vetted for fiscal viability, but checked against the long-term interests of the district.

Ms. Donegan served as the Superintendent of Skokie School District 73½, where she worked for 24 years and served as Superintendent for 13 years. Prior to becoming Superintendent of District 73½, Ms. Donegan held positions as Principal and Assistant Principal of McCracken Middle School. She began her career as a Special Education Teacher. Ms. Donegan is actively involved in several organizations supporting public schools and her community, including being a superintendent mentor for IASA and an ED-RED executive board member.

Ms. Donegan earned an Ed. S in Educational Leadership, a Chief School Business Official Certification, and a General Administrative Certification from Northern Illinois University. She also holds a master’s degree in Special Education from Illinois State University and a B.A. in Business Administration from Illinois Wesleyan University.
