Q: What is the cutoff age for enrollment?
A: Children enrolling for the first time in the junior kindergarten, kindergarten, and first grade must be 4, 5 and 6 years of age, respectively, by September 1st.
Q: Does The Joseph Sears School have before school/after school programs?
A: Unfortunately, we do not offer these services at this time. Students are encouraged to get involved in a number of extracurricular and athletic activities, many of which take place after school.
Q: Are students required to wear uniforms to school?
A: While students do not wear school uniforms to school, all students are expected to adhere to the school dress code.
Q: Does the school district provide any accommodations for non-native speaking English students?
A: Yes. The Joseph Sears School provides English Language Learner resources for students. Learn more about the program resources on the ELL webpage.
Q: What extracurricular opportunities are available to my child?
A: The Joseph Sears School maintains nearly a dozen standing extracurricular offerings, including programs maintained by community organizations.
Q: Which shots, physicals and vaccinations does my child need prior to the start of school?
A: The school nurse issues a letter containing information about required shots, physicals and vaccinations. The letter can be accessed on the district forms page.
