2012-2013Volunteer Interest Sheet

  

Each year volunteers provide services to enrich  school programs and raise money for school needs.  Volunteering on any of the committees is a  great way to be involved with the Sears Community.  The Committee Chairs are looking forward to a wonderful year and are very grateful for your support.

 

The following is a list of all of the JSSPVA Committees that have requested assistance for the upcoming school year:

 

 

Benefit:  Work on one of many committees for the year-end fundraiser/celebration on 5/18

 

Book Fair:  Volunteers needed to work the fair in the fall and spring on 11/5-11/7 & 5/6-5/7

 

Census:  Volunteer to “poll” your street or block

 

Creative Dramatics:  Help students participating in this fun lunchtime club

 

Display Case:  Assist in creating and updating the central display case

 

Diversity Awareness:  Help teach grades K-5 about diversity on 1/14-1/25 (kickoff on 1/8)

 

Earth Day:  Volunteers needed to help on 4/22

 

Environmental Green Team:  Help support student Environmental Club

 

Family Fun Day:  Volunteers needed on 8/28 during the event and set up/clean up

 

Grounds Committee:  Assist in planting and weeding certain areas around school

 

Instrumental Music:  Assist with concerts and help with refreshments

 

Library/Tech Center:  Assist staff/students in this area on a weekly basis

 

Lost & Found:  Help sort and display lost items

 

Newcomers Committee:  Volunteer to serve as a host family for new families

 

School-Pack:  Assist School Supplies Committee

 

Sears Café:  Assist in lunchroom

 

Skate Exchange:  Assist on 12/4

 

Sports Banquet:  Help plan and set up for sports banquets

 

Teacher Appreciation Week:  Assist with projects throughout the week

 

Walk/Bike to School Week:  Volunteers needed to help 10/1-10/4

 

World Link:  Help bring the culture of a country to students in activities throughout the year
